The Exonerated

Charleston Stage Company will present The Exonerated in as a fund-raiser at 8 PM on Saturday, January 26 at the Capitol Center Theatre in Charleston. Tickets are $25 at the door.

The Exonerated tells the real stories of five wrongfully convicted men and one woman imprisoned on death row, some for decades, before being exonerated and freed. The production, using the real words of those concerned, has repeatedly left audiences breathless. It’s a stunning, not to be missed demonstration of the power of live theater. The Exonerated is also opportunity to communicate with people, intellectually and emotionally, about issues of crime and punishment that generally go undiscussed.

CSC production of The Exonerated won the right to represent West Virginia at the prestigious Southeastern Theatre Conference by first winning top honors at the West Virginia Theatre Conference’s Community Theatre Festival in Martinsburg this November. But now, in order to go, the cast needs to raise nearly $3,000 to cover fees and expenses.
