| 36th Annual Burlington Old-Fashioned Apple Harvest Festival |

Take a stroll beneath the towering walnut trees, listen to the sounds of the meandering brook, browse the 3-acre flea market, and visit the country-style "shopping mall." Instead of acres of asphalt, fast food and piped in music, wander leisurely through three huge tents filled with unique, handmade, one-of-a-kind items. The "food court" features many yummy apple delights, country ham sandwiches, funnel cakes, and many other country fair goodies - no cardboard burgers and soggy french fries sold here! The music isn't artificial - it's live on the festival stage, just yards away from the shopping! Listen - you can hear the sounds of the banjo player warming up now!
Antique autos and tractors, the intricate stitching and beautiful color schemes lovingly combined into the many heritage quilts on display, a rousing parade, a toe-tappin' fiddle/banjo/mandolin contest, games, pony rides, and a variety of other family oriented activities are showcased at the festival.
Admission to the two-day festival is free of charge, as is the live country, bluegrass, and southern gospel performances on-stage throughout the weekend. The festival's signature attraction, Burlington's Famous Apple Butter, made the old-fashioned way - outdoors in open-air kettles is the world's best tasting apple butter - honest!

“AUTUMN SPLENDOR DINNER TRAIN"
Make plans now to enjoy an early afternoon Dinner Train.
The South Side Depot is hosting the “Autumn Splendor Dinner Train”
Passengers on the “Autumn Splendor Dinner Train” will begin boarding at 4:00 pm at the South Side Depot in Petersburg, West Virginia. There is plenty to see through the broad windows on the South Side Express Vintage Passenger Train Cars.
Passengers will get a chance to view an array of fall foliage, historic buildings, scenic rock formations and native wildlife such as the Bald Eagle.
The train will be debarking on the 2 ½ hour trip through the beautiful Potomac Highlands at 4:30 pm and will feature a catered prime rib dinner by Gourmet Delights of Petersburg.
