This year we invite you to thinkfive as we will again offer FIVE new plays in rotating repertory. CATF focuses on plays that deal with contemporary issues that boldly challenge and entertain audiences.

This private campground offers plenty of choices: from renting an eclectic 1960s painted camper bus to bringing your own RV, pop-up, or tents. Each campsite is fully equipped with full hookups for RVs (if needed), a fire ring, and a picnic table. A new, beautiful, and full-service bathhouse with hot showers and quaint Hospitality Barn for family get-togethers add a touch of the convenient to the country atmosphere accented by views of the surrounding Appalachian Mountains, a freshwater stream, and swaying sunflower and organic vegetable gardens.
Our program includes something for everyone, with a full roster of activities and classes to choose from each day. Activities range from hiking in the nearby Stuarts and Dolly Sods National Recreation Areas to rock climbing at world-famous Seneca Rocks, as well as canoeing clean mountain rivers and caving.
In collaboration with the Augusta Heritage Cultural Arts Center in Elkins, the camp offers choices in cultural immersion activities such as bluegrass and swing music, swing dancing, felting, traditional weaving, drawing, Appalachian natural history, and even cowboy yodeling. Environmental awareness and outdoor appreciation classes are also offered with time to do some stream surveying and fishing, Appalachian botany studies, outdoor cooking classes, and nature art.
Pegasus Farm Family Camp offers activities for the entire family, just the kids, or just the parents. You choose. We provide the fun; you provide the relaxation. Come enjoy this uniquely remote and diverse area and learn all about our Appalachian heritage.

| Avalonfest 2010 |
8/13/10 to 8/15/10 |
|
The Hills are Alive with Music at Avalonfest 2010
The slate of performers for Avalonfest 2010 is taking shape. Avalonfest is a music, arts & crafts festival hosted annually at the beautiful Avalon Resort, nestled on a mountainside in the Panhandle of West Virginia. The 13th annual Avalonfest runs from Friday, August 13 through Sunday, August 15 with a special Thursday night pre-fest bonus concert for early arrivals.
The growing list of Avalonfest 2010 performers is an eclectic mix of musical styles. Performers include the Randall Williams Band (folk/rock), Creole Stomp (Cajun), ilyAIMY (percussive/contemporary), Anne Hills (featured singer-songwriter), The Guy Mendilow Band (world music), Two Man Gentlemen Band (vaudeville), Miss Tess and the Bon Ton Parade (swing), Resonance (Caribbean steel drum), Craig Bickhardt (country), IONA (Celtic), and more to be announced. David Kleiner, last year’s winner of the Avalon Performing Songwriter Competition at Avalonfest ’09 will also return and perform with his band.
Because Avalon Resort is a full service resort with lodging and a large campground, many folks start their Avalonfest weekend early. Guests can take a break Thursday night from relaxing by the indoor or outdoor pools or from setting up their campsite to be entertained at the pre-fest bonus concert by Bill Danoff, of Starland Vocal Band and co-writer of “Country Roads”.
The Friday through Sunday Avalonfest 2010 entertainment includes much, much more than the scheduled performers taking center stage. The annual Performing Songwriter Competition brings four finalists to the stage on Friday. To get contest details go to www.avalon-resort.com or www.sonicbids.com. On Friday night David Kleiner leads the after-hours singing in the lodge. On Friday and Saturday night a live dance band rocks the Avalon Field House. Sunday morning features the audience-favorite open mic. In addition to the musical entertainment a ticket to the festival includes access to the large marketplace of quality vendors as well as use of all resort facilities. Those facilities include an outdoor pool, indoor aquatics center (a pool, 2 hot tubs, a dry sauna and exercise room), spa services, a large hiking area with marked trails, food service and bars.
Festival tickets are on sale now and include free tent camping. If you purchase tickets before July 6 the discounted prices are - entire festival 3-day ticket ($115) or individual daily ticket for Friday ($40), Saturday ($50) and Sunday ($40). Avalon members receive even more of a discount. All ticket prices will increase July 7. Get your tickets early!
In these times of economic stimulus and environmental awareness a trip to Avalon offers both. Avalon is the Mid-Atlantic’s premier casual and family-appropriate clothing-optional resort and campground. There is no need to buy new vacation clothes to visit Avalon. Less dry cleaning or laundry means you are also being easier on the environment. To find out more about Avalon visit www.avalon-resort.com. Avalon is affiliated with both the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) and The Naturist Society (TNS). Come see why Avalonfest is known as the ‘Nakedfest’.
