Moundsville Penitentiary (Prison) Tours 4/4/06 to 11/30/06
Don't miss the opportunity to experience the shock of what life was like behind the huge, cold walls of the former Moundsville penitentiary. It is in the National Historic Register, and encompasses over 10 acres. This Gothic-style prison was constructed during the Civil War era and remained open until 1995.

Fashion in Film 4/8/06 to 6/11/06
The Spring 2006 exhibit
Featuring 36 costumes created for cinema and television. From such famous films as Titanic, Dangerous Liasons, Ever After, Pride and Prejudice and many more. Clothing styles range from the reign of Elizabeth II to the 1950's.
The exhibit talks about the collaboration between the costumers, directors and actors to recreate historically accurate clothing of the period. Costumes were worn by such famous actors as Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna, Drew Barrymore, Uma Thurman, Kate Blanchett, Kate Winslett and many more.
Also displaying works from the museums permanent collections that reflect the asthetic of the periods as well.

Shepherdstown Film Festival - "East Meets East -- Asian Films for the Eastern Panhandle" 5/4/06 to 5/15/06
The Shepherdstown Film Society presents "East Meets East -- Asian Films for the Eastern Panhandle."
Featured at the festival will be Six Asian films released recently in the U.S. The films will be shown in rotation at the Shepherdstown Opera House, May 5 - May 15.

Admission to each showing is $7. Advance tickets will go on sale April 10; at that time, they will be available for purchase at www.operahousemovies.com or in person at the Shepherdstown Sweet Shop Bakery, 100 West German Street. Seating at the Opera House is limited to 133 persons, so those wishing to attend are encouraged to book their tickets as soon as possible.
An opening night reception will be held from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, May 4, at the Men's Club Building on German Street. The reception is free. The reception will be followed by a free showing at 8:30pm of the Ang Lee film "Eat Drink Man Woman."

Pendleton County Spring Fest 5/5/06 to 5/7/06
Welcome to the Spring Fest in Pendleton County. There is lots to do here for people of all ages. The main event is a trophy trout rodeo on Saturday where each registered person has the opportunity to catch large trout in the South Branch of the Potomac River. (All State regulations apply.) Summit Point Raceway - CCS Motorcycle Racing 5/6/06 to 9/10/06

Motorcycle racing is one of the most exhilarating sports known to mankind. It combines the thrill of riding at high speeds inches apart from other competitors.
CCS classes are broken down into easy-to-understand categories including Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight and Unlimited. There are also classes for twin cylinder, single cylinder and two-stoke Grand Prix machines.
CCS Racing is a breeding ground for the AMA. Championship Cup Series (CCS) is the largest sportsman motorcycle road racing series in the United States. Some of the riders who have competed with CCS over the years include Ashmead, DuHamel, Edwards, Russell, Sadowski, Spencer, Hayden and many others.

Kids Come First Celebrity Golf Tournament 5/7/06 to 5/8/06
Communities In Schools of Greenbrier County (CISGC) in partnership with The Greenbrier Sporting Club is pleased to announce the Inaugural Communities In Schools Kids Come First Celebrity Golf Tournament hosted by former Dallas Cowboys’ greats Troy Aikman and Daryl Johnston.

The event will be held on Monday, May 8, 2006 at The Greenbrier Sporting Club and will feature play on “The Snead,” the award-winning members-only golf course designed by Tom Fazio. The entry fee for the golf tournament is $500.00 per player and includes cart fees, on-course refreshments, and players’ reception hosted by The Greenbrier Sporting Club.

In addition, each tournament participant will receive one complementary ticket to a special Meet and Greet event scheduled for Sunday, May 7, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the West Virginia State Fair Event Center . This event will feature dinner, live music, and a live auction. Meet and Greet tickets are available to the public for $50.00 per person.
